Kickstart Your Social Responsibility-5 Simple First Steps

by doug.vs on February 9, 2009

Kickstart Your Social Responsibilty We talk to a lot of companies that know that social responsibility is important but who just don’t have the time to dedicate to it or have any idea on how. Well CSR is a broad topic, and there are tons of ways that each company individually can make a difference. But we thought we would give out a quick list of some of the cool things that we have been seeing that are really easy to do- and good for the community as well. Check them out and add your own in the comments-We will add them as they come in!

  1. Use an environmentally friendly courier service like Novex to reduce your company’s carbon footprint.
  2. Buy from socially conscious retailers when corporate gifts to a client. A good example is Saul Good Inc. or Giftback Inc  where you are able to donate 10% of your purchase back to a charity of your choice.
  3. Save energy by buying compact florescent lights- (if you already do, don’t forget to recycle them properly. Ikea will take all your old ones)
  4. Try getting eco-friendly products or an eco-friendly cleaning service to clean your office environment. If you’re in the Bay Area, look up these guys.
  5. Try hiring a catering company for that next work event that uses its revenue to give back to the community like Potluck Catering.org
